Artisanal jewelry tools: at the heart of our know-how
At LEGION Paris , each piece of jewelry is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, made by hand using traditional jewelry tools. Behind each piece lies a veritable choreography of instruments, carefully chosen for their precision, robustness, and ability to bring the material to life. Today, we take you behind the scenes of the workshop to discover these tools that accompany us every day.
1. The bocfil: cutting to the millimeter
Essential to the jeweler, the bocfil is a fine saw used to cut metal with extreme precision. Thanks to its interchangeable blades, it can create complex and delicate shapes. It is the tool of choice for openwork and detailed patterns.

2. The file: to shape and refine
After cutting, it's time for the finishing work. Files are used to correct and soften edges and give the piece a precise shape. They come in all sizes and with varying grits, suitable for each stage of the manufacturing process.
3. The triboulet: to give shape to the rings
The triboulet is a conical tool used to shape rings and bands. Made of steel or wood, it allows you to accurately calibrate the diameter of a circular piece of jewelry and ensure a regular curve.

4. The hammer: between strength and precision
Used for forging, texturing, or riveting, the hammer is one of the most versatile tools in the workshop. There are different types of hammers depending on their use: jeweler's hammer, stamping hammer, planing hammer, etc. All add their touch to the material, allowing us to create hammered textures that are the signature of LEGION Paris jewelry.
5. The pliers: extended hands
Pliers are essential for handling, bending, holding, or adjusting metalwork. Flat-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, and cutting pliers each have their own specific purpose. They allow for precise work, even on the smallest parts.
6. The blowtorch: the magic of fusion
The blowtorch is used to weld metals together. Thanks to a controlled flame, it allows elements to be joined without deforming them. It is a technical tool, requiring rigor and know-how, essential in the art of welding.

7. The caliper: measurement for precision
The caliper is a very precise measuring instrument. It allows you to check the diameter of a ring, the thickness of a plate, or the spacing between two elements. A well-made piece of jewelry always starts with accurate measurements.
8. The shop: to engrave the material
Used for artisanal engraving , the graver is a fine, pointed tool that allows you to draw directly on the metal. It gives rise to unique designs, created by hand with patience and meticulousness.
9. Tweezers: surgical precision
Tweezers , or fine forceps, are used to handle very small items, such as precious stones, settings or findings. They allow you to work delicately without risking damage to the materials.
10. The ankle: the working base
A jeweler's peg is the wooden support on which the piece being manufactured rests. Attached to the workbench, it provides stability for working, whether sawing, filing, or setting.

Know-how at the service of creation
