The Gibeon meteorite , or simply Gibeon , is an iron meteorite that fell to Earth in Namibia . The meteorite disintegrated into numerous fragments before impact. Its total known mass before impact is 26 tonnes, making it one of the largest known meteorites. Fragments of the meteorite have been known for centuries to the Namaqua , a pastoralist people of southern Africa, who use them to make arrows and other tools.

Antigone, the heroine of Jean Anouilh's play, prefers to disobey the laws of men when they are unjust, rather than disobey the laws of the gods. She is then arrested, tried, and imprisoned alive. But rather than let herself die or even be executed, Antigone commits suicide. Upon hearing the news, Her fiancé, Hemon, throws himself into the hole where his fiancée lies.
