The term "Black Silver" refers to solid silver with a legal fineness of 925/1000 that has been oxidized to a dark gray color. Black silver will develop a patina, and the treatment will fade in places to reveal the natural shine of untreated silver.

Muonionalusta was discovered in 1906 in Kiruna, Sweden, near the Arctic Circle on the banks of the Muonio River. Studies have shown it to be the oldest meteorite discovered to have impacted Earth during the Quaternary period, about a million years ago. It originated from the iron core or mantle of a planetoid, which shattered into several pieces as it fell to our planet. Since landing on Earth, the meteorite has experienced four ice ages.
